IREDIES

L’IREDIES (Institut de recherche en droit international et européen de la Sorbonne – EA 4536) est un centre de recherche de l’Ecole de droit de la Sorbonne (Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne). Il est actuellement dirigé par la Professeure Sophie Robin-Olivier, secondée par la professeure Laurence Dubin.

L’IREDIES, né en 2010 de la fusion d’un centre de droit international (CERDIN) et d’un centre de droit européen (CRUE), constitue un pôle de recherche universitaire d’excellence, vivier de talents et de projets scientifiques d’une ampleur et d’un niveau sans précédent en matière de droit international et européen. L’IREDIES est aujourd’hui l’un des – sans doute « le » – plus grands centres de recherche français en droit international et européen.

Les activités de l’IREDIES sont organisées autour de quatre axes de recherche, déterminés en fonction des domaines d’expertise des enseignants-chercheurs de l’Institut :

1. « Théories, normativités, justice et droits fondamentaux »
2. « Droit des organisations internationales et européennes »
3. « Droit international des relations économiques et sociales, et de l’environnement »
4. « Espace, paix et sécurité humaine »

Ces axes recouvrent ainsi aussi bien des thématiques internationales qu’européennes. Dans chacun de ces axes, divers projets sont mis en œuvre, mais l’IREDIES organise également des manifestations transversales recoupant l’ensemble des axes ou portant sur le droit international et/ou le droit de l’Union européenne en marge de ces axes.

Organisateur de nombreux colloques et journées d’étude portant sur le droit international et européen, l’IREDIES assure également la direction et le secrétariat d’édition de quatre collections publiées aux éditions Pedone : « Cahiers Européens », « Doctrine(s) », « Perspectives internationales » et « Cahiers Internationaux ».

The IREDIES (Sorbonne Research Institute for International and European Law) is a research centre of the Sorbonne Law School (University of Paris I Pantheon-Sorbonne). Professor Sophie Robin-Olivier, assisted by Professor Laurence Dubin, currently heads it.
 
The IREDIES was created in 2010 from the merger of two research centres – one in international law (CERDIN) and one in European law (CRUE) –. It constitutes an academic research centre of excellence and a pool of talents and scientific projects of an unprecedented extent and level as far as international and European law are concerned. At present, the IREDIES is one of the – most likely “the” – leading research centres in international and European law in France.
 
The IREDIES activities are organised around four lines of research, determined in accordance with the Institute’s professors and researchers expertise fields, which integrate international and European thematics:

1. “Theories, Normativities, Justice and Fundamental Rights”
2. “International and European Organisations Law”
3. “International Economic, Social and Environmental Law”
4. “Spaces, Peace and Human Security”

 
Various projects are implemented in each of these areas. Yet, the IREDIES also organises crosswise events exploring all the areas or focusing on specific international and/or European Union law issues, alongside its main lines of research.
 
Organiser of several scientific research symposiums and workshops related to international and European law, the IREDIES also handles the editorial management and secretarial work of four book collections published by Pedone: “Cahiers Européens”, “Doctrine(s)”, “Perspectives Internationales” and “Cahiers Internationaux”.
